According to Russian Satellite Communication Company (RSCC), by 2015 the scheduled launches of new satellites will increase overall national satellite capacity by 580 transponders. In total the Russian satellite communication system will include 26 space devices (fixed satellite network and TV broadcasting), 2 satellites for TV re-broadcasting, as well as 12 satellites for mobile satellite communication systems. Based on ComNews reporting, RSCCs revenues in 2006 exceeded USD 136 million. Its major rival, Gazcom, which is an affiliate of Gazprom, believes that its revenues in 2006 reached more than USD 40 million . In 2008, when Gazcom will launch its Yamal - 300 satellite its capacity will also increase by 52 transponders. Overall, TV broadcasting provides the highest share of sales for satellite communication companies.
